Ok, sorry if ya thought I was lost, I have heard through the grape vine that I am not keeping my blog up to date well enough!! Not looking at anyone in particular N & S… The reason being I haven’t done or achieved anything spectacular bar a couple of small homers (My Leatherman is worth it’s weight in Gold!) until Last Wed 18th when I bought my ’88 Ford Falcon panel van which there are photo’s of on facebook, since buying the van I have been tinkering around with it and shopping around for some essentials namely Jerry cans, second spare wheel, water can, fishing rod & tackle, dust pan and brush, spare oil, oil filter, air filter, roof rails, 3 x cheap and nasty 12v flourescent inspection lights, poles for awning/tarp which I am yet to buy! Other things yet to buy are cooker, 12v cooler/esky (damn they’re expensive), gas cylinder, 2nd Battery and charging system and materials and some inspiration to build a bed/storage (Do ya fancy a Holiday Norman? ha ha)! Yesterday I took the van down to a local car dealer who I got friendly with when looking at a van he was selling and he gave me a hand to give it the once over, oil and filter checked all the brakes and bushes etc replaced the rear shock absorber bushes which stopped the rattle which the previous owner thought where the rear doors rattling!
Anyways, my current task is trying to get my head around the construction of a single bed that can fold out to a double when required and have storage underneath if only I was at home with a welder at hand I would throw together a basic steel frame but that isn’t an option here, so it is gonna hadda be timber which I struggle with a bit! So I’ll leave you now with my current headache, quite literally I may add, split my head yesterday on the corner of a tailgate at the breakers yard!
Chat soon folks, Hopefully with some progress on the bed front! I have been told I have to hang around here until next wed as I am being takin out for my birthday! My only plan is to be in Canberra for 9th-13th april for the Australian Folk music festival to hear Eric Bogle and the likes then on to Melbourne after that!
Later folks…
